I think I've found my sport

I'm on it!
I'm on it!

Delilah here. I've been queued up for the computer for days. It's finally free and I'm grabbing it! I think Mommy is dealing with cucumbers again this morning. Pickles, anyone? (Personally, not my favorite.)

Last night, I was watching TV, nursing my sore leg (which is fine now, but it was a good excuse to lick myself), when I saw the most incredible thing. A huge yard, full of grown men, running around like crazy after a BALL! They sort of shared it, they bounced it off their heads sometimes, and they kicked it, and kicked it, and ran, and kicked it some more. I was too far away. I couldn't tell if the ball giggled or not. Occasionally, someone got smashed into and landed on the ground, but that happens. One guy used his hands to catch and then throw the ball, but he didn't get to run much, so I wouldn't want to be him. I couldn't be him. I can't catch. BUT I CAN RUN!!! It's the runners that I loved watching. THIS WAS JUST LIKE THE DOGPARK!!!

I used to go to the dogpark sometimes. Not a lot, but believe me, it wasn't because I didn't WANT to go. I ran and ran and ran with friends. Sometimes we had a ball, and a person who can catch would throw it, but we didn't need one to have fun. And sometimes (actually pretty often) we rammed into people who were in the middle of our game. (I think Mommy was scared of this part.) This was just like the game I was watching last night!!! I think this could really be my sport; I know Frisbee isn't considered much of a sport (which is a crock, because you have to be a real athlete to jump for the lousey throws from Mommy). Daddy said this game was soccer, the TV announcer called it fusball, Mommy said it was World Cup. I don't care what it is called...I'm ready to try out for the team. After the game was over, music was playing and everyone in the stadium was singing 'Take Me Home, Country Road'. Do we have to move to West Virginia to play this game?

PS: This picture of me was taken by my camp counselor. Can you tell, I'm focused and quite a good player. We play this game a lot at camp. At camp, though, it's just a pick up game. We have to play through frisbee-throwing, and friends sniffing each other, and occasional misunderstandings. To think there is someplace where you can play uninterrupted....almost heaven. Yep. That's West Virginia.
